Press & Brand

The Indicold logo,
and how to use it.

Everything a journalist, partner or designer needs to represent Indicold correctly — approved logo files for light and dark backgrounds, colour values, clear space, minimum sizes and the rules that keep the mark consistent wherever it appears.

02 — Restricted variants

Three exceptions, and only these three.

Use these when the two-colour lockup physically cannot work. If the medium can carry full colour, it should — these are fallbacks, not stylistic alternatives.

Indicold single-colour navy logo

Single colour — navy

One-colour print, engraving, embroidery, fax-grade reproduction. The INDI letters knock out of the block so the background shows through.

Indicold single-colour white logo on a dark navy background

Single colour — white

One-colour reproduction on dark stock, or over photography where amber would not hold. Never use it on a light background.

Indicold square symbol — amber bar on navy

Symbol

The square mark, for spaces too small or too square for the full lockup — favicons, social avatars, app tiles. It never stands in for the logo in a document or a press layout.

03 — Space and scale

Give it room. Don't shrink it past legible.

Both rules are measured off the artwork itself, so they hold at any size and in any medium — no conversion needed.

Clear space

X is the cap height of the wordmark — the height of the letter I in INDI. Keep at least X of empty space on all four sides. Nothing enters that zone: no text, no rules, no other logos, no image edges, no page trim or fold.

Minimum size

Below these sizes the ® and the counters in COLD start to fill in. If your space is smaller than the minimum, do not scale the lockup down further — switch to the square symbol.

04 — Colour

Two brand colours. Everything else supports them.

Indicold Navy and Indicold Amber are the logo. They are fixed values, not a starting point for interpretation — reproduce them from the numbers below rather than sampling from a screenshot or a compressed image.

Indicold Navy

The wordmark on light backgrounds, primary surfaces, headings.

Indicold Amber

The block in the logo. Accents, emphasis, calls to action.

Colour profiles. HEX and RGB are the authoritative values and are specified in sRGB — use them for anything on a screen. The CMYK figures are recommended coated builds; ring them against your own output profile before you go to press, because an uncoated stock or a different press profile will shift them. Pantone references are the closest solid-coated matches, not exact conversions. When a printer can run a spot colour, run the Pantone rather than a four-colour build — the amber in particular holds much better as a spot.

05 — Backgrounds

Which lockup goes where.

One test: can you read the wordmark without effort, and does the amber block still read as amber? If either answer is no, change the lockup or change the background — do not modify the logo.

Primary logo on white

White & Ice

Primary lockup. The default pairing for documents, press releases and light layouts.

Reversed logo on Indicold Navy

Indicold Navy

Reversed lockup. Amber block unchanged, wordmark white. The single navy the whole site is built on.

Reversed logo over a dark image area

Photography

Reversed lockup, placed over a quiet, evenly dark area of the image. If the photo is busy, darken the area behind the logo rather than adding a box or a shadow.

06 — Misuse

What not to do.

The logo is supplied finished. Every one of these is a modification, and each one has turned up in the wild at least once.

Correct use of the Indicold logo

Use it as suppliedOriginal proportions, original colours, clear space respected.

Incorrect: logo stretched horizontally

Don't stretch or squashScale proportionally. Always hold 438 : 185.

Incorrect: logo recoloured

Don't recolour itNavy and amber are fixed. No tints, gradients or seasonal palettes.

Incorrect: logo rotated

Don't rotate or skewThe lockup sits level. No angles, no perspective, no arcs.

Incorrect: text crowding the logo

Don't crowd itKeep X of clear space free on every side, including other logos.

Incorrect: logo on a busy background

Don't fight the backgroundNo busy patterns or clashing colour behind the mark.

Incorrect: drop shadow added to the logo

Don't add effectsNo shadows, glows, bevels, outlines or containing boxes.

Incorrect: logo placed on amber, losing the block

Don't lose the blockOn amber the block disappears. Choose a background the whole lockup survives.

Also off-limits: separating INDI from COLD, re-typesetting the wordmark in another typeface, removing the ®, redrawing or tracing the letterforms, using the logo as a repeating pattern, and animating it into any state other than a straight fade.

07 — Typography

Three typefaces, one job each.

Set anything that sits beside the logo in these. All three are open-source and free to license — nothing to buy, nothing to request. None of them is used to re-create the wordmark, which is fixed artwork.

08 — Name & trademark

Writing the name.

In running text the company is Indicold — one word, initial capital only. The all-caps form belongs to the logo artwork, not to prose.

✓ Correct

  • Indicold in body copy, headlines and quotes
  • Indicold Private Limited for the legal entity
  • INDICOLD® only where the registered mark is being asserted
  • Treat it as a singular proper noun — "Indicold is", not "Indicold are"
  • First mention in an article may carry the ®; later mentions need not

✕ Incorrect

  • IndiCold, Indi-Cold, Indi Cold — never split or camel-cased
  • INDICOLD in running prose
  • indicold lowercase, outside of a URL or handle
  • Using the name or logo in a way that implies endorsement, sponsorship or partnership without a written agreement
  • Building the name into your own product name, logo or domain

09 — For your copy deck

Boilerplate and media contact.

Approved standing description. Use it verbatim at the foot of a release, or trim to the first sentence where space is short.
